Simon GreenHi Viv, Next trip is the Way of the Roses, a little different from India. Have you decided on your next cycling adventure? You mentioned Yorkshire!
tim lisleSounds like a fantastic trip Simon - its on my retirement list (if i ever retire!) Any pics of the Enfield?
Simon GreenPhoto of the Royal Enfield for you Tim - Definitely something you should do!!!
Nathan CaldwellDid you use the bell on your bike liberally while cycling? Was it odd not to have a motor while still on 2 wheels?
Mary FoleySounds like you had a wonderful holiday in India, Simon. Doc gave me the okay to cycle indoors but wants me to wait until the 10 week mark to attempt outdoor riding. March 25 is 10 weeks. I hope I am ready by then. Still using cane during my outdoor walks. ;)
Nathan CaldwellIt appears you and your group had a total India experience! I hope the mechanical issues you detailed were not solely yours! Hope you had a good visit at the Taj Mahal, too!
Simon Green.... and yes plenty of horn!!! Horn, signal, horn, manoeuvre, horn, accelerate, horn, see another vehicle, horn etc etc etc!!!
Simon GreenHi Nathan, Back safely from my India trip. 1800kms on the Royal Enfields. We weren't spared everything that India could throw at us. Even riding through cities to get to hotels in rush hour (Jaipur was the worst). Keeping 10 motorbikes together without getting lost in the mayhem!! About 50% was off-road along deep sand, salt flats and across fields and dirt paths. With 4 punctures, a duff battery, 3 broken mirrors and indicators and many electrical glitches!! But every village we went through all the locals came out to see us. After we handed back the bikes we were went to Agra and Amritsar and explored the Punjab. A wonderful trip staying in Palaces and Havelis and a couple of things ticked off the bucket list๐๐
John PrivettHi Simon - I've just been looking back through old photos on LTR and saw your comment on my signpost photo, near Rusper, from October. I've added a brief reply there, and you're right, it is now in West Sussex!
Nathan CaldwellBe safe on your motorcyle adventure! India has a lot of bad roads and "interesting", or rather, non-existent rules of the road!
