Need a bike?

Here are some great options to get access to a bike in Pōneke during the Challenge (and beyond!). 

1. Buy a bike from one of the many fantastic bike shops in Pōneke. Find a local shop here.

• Many bike shops are happy for you to test ride different bikes before you make your final decision. You can book a test ride at local bike shop Bicycle Junction here and Electrify Wellington here.

2. Hire a bike. Both short- and longer-term rental bikes are available here:

• My Ride Wellington (Te Aro) - mountain and city bikes
• Mud Cycles (Karori) - mountain bikes
• Switched on Bikes (Queen's Wharf) - electric bikes
  • Switched on Bikes also offers a 'Subscribe to Ride scheme' for longer term rentals.

3. Use Wellington's public share Beam and Flamingo ebikes.

4. EkeRua ReBicycle are a local charity who fix-up and rehome unwanted bicycles. Bikes range in price but are free for those who cannot afford to pay. Find out more here.

5. Head along to some of the awesome events on during the Challenge. Many of these have the option of trying out or renting a bike. Check out the event details for more info.
