Common FAQs

Some of my routes are already rated, do I need to update them?

There’s no need to rerate any of the parts of routes that you’ve already rated unless your feelings towards them have changed. If that’s the case, we’d love to know your updated feelings on the route.

Can you expand on what you mean by comfortable?

Sure, when rating we want you to consider the overall qualities of that section of the route. For example, whether the surface is safe or skiddy to ride on or, if the road is chockablock with traffic or serenely vehicle-free. Your rating should consider the section on balance and summarize your overall feeling about it.

How do you protect the privacy of people rating their routes?

We’ve taken steps to ensure our users’ privacy, safety and security throughout the design and build of the ‘Rate your Routes’ features and the aggregate route maps. Read our full Privacy Statement here.

What happens with incident reports?

Incident reports, including near-miss and collision data, are securely recorded and aggregated to help transportation planners identify areas where safety issues or accidents frequently occur. Currently, Love to Ride does not share individual incident reports with third parties, such as law enforcement agencies. For serious incidents, we strongly recommend reporting the matter directly to the appropriate authorities at the time of the occurrence.
